Maintaining Your Home and Be Stress Free

Home is where the heart is, and one thing that most people neglect is that how you take care of your home is essential to how your life can be come enjoyable.  One thing that is always certain is that home is eventually where you will be sleeping, whether it be a mansion in the countryside or a modest studio.  Maintaining your home is a key factor in keeping your life stress free.

Keep your home clean. Nothing provides more stress than going back to a pig sty.  This doesn’t also mean that you need to drench your home with isopropyl alcohol on a daily basis.  What you need is to balance keeping your abode from becoming a garbage dump.  Some people I know clean twice a day, and that may be too much for some.  Like me.  I have my home cleaned at least once a week and that is enough to make my house feel like a home.

Don’t delay minor repairs.  It starts out as a little ding her and a little hole there, but the more you procrastinate eventually your home will be in such a shambles that you’d be force to tear it down and build a new one.  And you can imagine you wallet aching there. It doesn’t have to be like that.  Fixing minor damages prevent bigger damages to occur and on will save you more in the long run.  Not to mention it keeps you from noticing that eyesore and constantly reminding your self, oh yeah, I need to fix that.  Life has too many stimuli bugging you already, pick up that toolkit and fix it.

Keep the bugs out.  The perennial bane of the home and you don’t want these critters sharing your home with you. They start off as just a scouting part looking for scraps.  Soon they’ll bring in a battalion of critters to much on your crumbs.  Then after establishing that they can get a free meal, they establish a colony right inside your walls.  Clean up after you eat.  Don’t leave dirty dishes on the sink.  Don’t give them a reason to establish residence in your abode.  Invest on vacuum containers to keep them from whiffing your food supply.

Pay Utilities on time.  Nothing gives more stress than not having heat in the middle of your shower.  Not to mention bumping yourself in the dark and breaking things.  It is simple, but paying your utilities helps you focus on more important tasks.  Paying house bills are just too mundane and becomes quite a hassle if you forget.  Consider utilizing an automatic payment scheme so you don’t have to remind yourself every so often.

Entertain visitors.  What would be home if you don’t get to flaunt it.  Invite a friend over for coffee or tea and relax and share your wonderful home with another.

Such are simple tips but works wonders to the soul.  It is sad that with the simplicity of it all, not everyone put in that little effort.  You just feel sad that you find some houses in decay and feel the spirit and the house and the owner deteriorate overtime.
